By accessing and using HabitBeaver ("the Service"), you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to these Terms of Service, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

HabitBeaver is a personal habit tracking and productivity application that allows users to:

  • Create and track daily habits
  • Manage tasks and to-do lists
  • Write journal entries
  • Organize information with categories and tags
  • Optionally integrate with Google Calendar
  • View analytics and track progress

3. User Accounts

Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your password
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
  • Be responsible for all activities that occur under your account

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the application settings.

4. User Content

Your Data

You retain all rights to the content you create within the Service, including habits, tasks, journals, and other personal data. By using the Service, you grant us the right to store and process your data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

Prohibited Content

You agree not to use the Service to create or store content that:

  • Violates any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
  • Contains malicious code or attempts to compromise the Service
  • Is used to harass, abuse, or harm others

5. Google Calendar Integration

The Google Calendar integration is an optional feature. By connecting your Google Calendar:

  • You authorize HabitBeaver to access your selected calendar in read-only mode
  • You can revoke this access at any time from the Settings page
  • Calendar data is fetched in real-time and not permanently stored
  • You remain subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

HabitBeaver's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose without authorization
  • Share your account credentials with others

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, functionality, and underlying code, is owned by HabitBeaver and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express written permission.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HABITBEAVER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

10. Data Backup

While we make reasonable efforts to maintain the Service and your data, you are solely responsible for maintaining backup copies of your data. We recommend regularly exporting your important information.

11. Service Availability

We strive to maintain continuous availability of the Service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend the Service for maintenance, updates, or other reasons at our discretion, with or without notice.

12. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
